Tracy Cairns – RCC, CCC

Senior Counsellor
She/Her/Hers

We do not heal for connection; we heal through it.

Tracy knows what it is to need someone who will not look away.

Her path into this work was shaped by lived experience of loss, betrayal, and relational trauma, and by the long process of rebuilding when life shifts beyond what can be controlled or predicted. That knowing is not background. It is present in how she works and in her capacity to stay with what is difficult without turning away when it matters most.

Many of the people who come to Tracy are capable and functioning, managing responsibilities, relationships, and expectations with real competence. Beneath that, there is often something far more complex. Experiences endured rather than processed. Violations of trust that altered how closeness is held. Early environments that shaped how safety, worth, and belonging were understood. Tracy meets people in that layer, beneath the coping, with precision and respect for what it took to get there.

Tracy works with adults, couples, and families navigating relational and complex trauma, attachment disruption, intergenerational and legacy patterns, betrayal, loss, major life transitions, and the nervous system impact of carrying unprocessed experience. She maintains a sustained interest in systems, including how families organize around pain, how couples become caught in cycles neither person chose, and how what one generation carries can shape the next.

She draws on Lifespan Integration®, parts-oriented approaches, and Interpersonal Neurobiology, not as a fixed model but as a responsive practice shaped by what each person, couple, or family system requires to shift.

Relational trauma does not resolve in isolation. It requires a different kind of relational experience, one built on attunement, safety, and the capacity to remain present with what is difficult. Tracy offers this with consistency and care.

“Something shifts when we slow down enough to listen, to the body’s signals and to the stories beneath our patterns. In this work, we make space to understand how your past has shaped you. Not to stay there, but to integrate it and move forward with greater clarity, connection, and trust in yourself.” ~ Tracy Cairns
